S3148-ON Switch Power Cycled Stuck at U-Boot Prompt
We have two switches in a stack that, after a power cycle got stuck in the boot up process with all port LED lights on and sitting at the U-Boot prompt. We could not get out of this prompt and we called support. Support said they could not recover and shipped out two new switches. We will be replacing them soon but I wanted to know if these model switches had the same Atom CPU issues as the S3048-ON or if these are plagued with the flash memory write issues? It is weird that both got stuck at the same time unless one of the two above are true that would make sense.
We also have a N3224F-ON switch that has been powered up for as long as these stack switches have been as well. Would these be affected with any of the above issues?
We, also have another stack of S3148-ON switches in another location but they have multiple redundant power options so they have not been power cycled yet.
Any info is appreciated.

Hello,
The S3148-ON switch is a newer switch model, which has a more advanced model of Broadcom CPU and is not listed in internal KB that the S3048-ON is on.
N3224F-ON completely a different switch family not affected .

What other reason would the switch stack die like it did? is there an issue with the ssd drives in these switches? Will support let us know what had happened to them after they get them back?

Hello,
I can't say why two failed at the same time. What did they say on the support case you opened?
I would recommend contact Support back on that case number and let them know it is not resolved if you are still having issues.
Dell won't send out any notice of what was done with it when it was received back.
